What is a 3D Printed Silencer? And Why You Need One
Просмотров 11 тыс.12 часов назад
Metal 3D-printing, or DMLS, is being utilized by silencer makers as an alternative to traditional manufacturing. DMLS is an additive manufacturing process that allows for revolutionary silencer construction. The process involves laser welding metal powder together to form a monolithic structure. These 3D printed silencers show very high performance on sound suppression, back pressure reduction,...

How to Build an AR15 For Suppressors - Make Your Rifle Quieter!
You can't, its impossible, don't even try to pick the right suppressor... buy one of each. Just get them all and you dont have to be bothered by an unanswerable riddle.
any word on when huxwrx will have the cash 9k back in stock?
Is this a SD version of the APC223? The handguard looks the same as the upcoming SPC223
How do you clean a suppressor that you can't take apart? You have to buy an ultra-sonic or what?
3:41 Yeah, sure, "a ton of benefits" ... except, you know, the most important part of owning a suppressor: being able to clean it!
Your linktr URL is not working.
If you use their kiosk. You do not have access to your passport photo or your fingerprints. You can only use their kiosk to file any forms. And cannot use them anywhere else. They will not give you copies. Tricky way to make sure you only use them for NFA items. There's a much easier way to do this. And it's not with them. And you have possession of your pictures and prints. And can use them anywhere.
Makes you wonder if it's compatible with Huxwrx left hand twist flash hiders/muzzle brakes.
With a direct threads muzzle adapter on it, is it lighter than the Scythe with a muzzle adapter?
Just a heads up, I am yet to find any Supressor Sauce in stock anywhere. Think I might just have to use Simple Green or something.
I gyatta get a aug. That thing sexy as hell with all those bells and whistles
Would like to see short fat cans like the yhm fat cat become more common to take advantage of all that space with the height over bore.
Dead Air is awesome
Leggings and a 🍑?
I made the purchase at my local FFL (who is also a "Preferred" Dealer" for SilencerShop) on a Tuesday. He called me the next day and said my form 4 was ready to certify. I was approved and picked up my SiCo Hybrid 46m following Wednesday. Flashback to when eforms was just starting out...I waited 287 days for a .22 suppressor. I think maybe collecting all of those additional $200 tax stamps might have something to do with these fast approvals?
Someone put 2400rounds through a PLA suppressor (fiberglass reinforcement) with 1600rd the first day with 1200 in full auto. This was on a 99$ 3d printer
These are not the 3d printed suppressors i am interested in. Kind of gross that they disclaim they aren't homemade. We shouldn't have to count on small community driven channels to push back against this. It should be legal to create your own suppressor without asking permission and you shouldn't need to pay a tax to engage in the exercising of a right
While absolutely cool as all hell, I personally see no advantage of paying 2 or 3x the price for something that isn’t “more” than movie quiet and is half the size of what is currently available. Just how much engineering can be done to make a “boom” quiet? This is being done for 85% manufacturability.
Has silencer shop even received any of these yet?
Friends don't let friends buy dead air.
Dead air killed their brand after they knowingly sold defective products PPE to civilians and took in most cases 9+ months to repair or replace them. Imagine waiting 9 moths for a can. Then after 150 shots it disintegrates and the warranty takes 9-14 months to repair. Just google dead air sierra 5 Problems. They sold it knowing it had issues. Real messed up. Kind if a black stain on those who still offer dead air products.

😊
I’m a DA owner and the way they handled their recent issues was… lacking. I encourage my friends to consider other brands
Also a DA owner. Buy Thunder Beast
black aces tactical $200 and has a better decibel rating that $1500 cans
yeah but they still ask for an insane fucking price why don't we bring back the superior r black aces tactical po'boy it is quieter than my silencer co and my sandmas L and it was $200 in total i payed $500
6.5 Grendel compatible ?
That's pretty smooth.
Video is 1 hour old and SilencerShop has these on backorder only...
Velos lbp 5.56 re stock when?
Looks like a pretty sweet can. I've been keeping an eye out for one of these since I first found out about them but they're always out of stock; everywhere I look. I really hope they start ramping up production...
They're available for reservation now!
@@SilencerShopBut when will they actually be available? They've been up for preorder for quite a while
Will this modular suppressor fit on my Saint Victor .556 pistol, and my Springfield armory XDS mod 2 .45 3.3 barrel?
Something like the SilencerCo Hybrid 46M would work on both!
After all the Sierra 5 issues..nope.
It’s a completely different can, made by completely different people, using a completely different process.
I haven't heard anything about this. What happened?
I have one and it works great. I think they’ve got them all fixed now. Haven’t heard anything. You know that the ones they’re selling now they’re gonna be good because they don’t want no more problems. Customer service will always be an issue with stuff like this because of the legal process and lawyers involved and people afraid of getting sued. You can sue a ham sandwich now not make excuses Dear Air why they didn’t address this, but you know it’s probably due to lawyers.
@@TheEDCTribedifferent people huh? You know this for a fact?
@@1stidvet553 yes. It’s a completely different design, look at a nomad cutaway vs a Sierra cut away. It’s made by different people, KGM was contracted to build the Sierra, they’re not making the Nomads. The Sierra used traditional Inconel baffles, this uses DMLS titanium. They couldn’t be more different.
I witnessed one of these XC and the longer version in extended usage. Very impressive suppressor. Looking forward to having one. Id highly recommend these in a big way
They are very impressive, I was blown away during our testing and evaluation.
I don’t think this can would be good for an AR 15 , made out of titanium
It sounds great, but definitely optimized for precision guns or 300BLK ARs.
When are they available ?
You can reserve one now!
@@SilencerShop Reserve one for when? Are they coming in to stock soon or 2025 (like the Aero thread adaptors)?
@@davehedge5044don’t hold your breath
Would be nice if they made a stainless steel version
Maybe!
The standard stainless nomad is still fantastic
After the sierra5 debacle, I’ll pass
The sierra 5 was welded. This is created with DMLS. Not even in the same ballpark.
@@MossyOakFreak not about the construction, it’s how they handled it.
@@kellykrueger1822 the original warranty manager under that program has been fired. I'm a dealer and I send back more cans than anyone in this comment section. I've never had a problem with DA. Most cans are coming back from repair within 2 weeks right now.
Why
@@williamboggs1682 on a welded tubeless design like the Sierra each baffle is laser welded to the next baffle. If the surface isn't perfectly clean, if the welder isn't at the right temp, if something is just a 1/16" off the weld can be compromised. If you were to burn a welded can until failure it would fail at the thin welds. DMLS is basically a giant tube of pure weld. Each particle of material, think of it like fine sand, is printed together. There are no welds to fail. It's almost impossible for things to not be concentric. It's basically a solid block. If you were to try and burn a DMLS can to failure you would have to superheat the material until it goes past it's heat treat and becomes brittle enough to crack. Which in the case of 3D printed Haynes 282 you will destroy your firearm first many times over before you got a 3D printed can to do the same.
Thoughts when compared to a polonium k?
Polonium sounds a bit better to my ear, but the Fat Cat is more compact.
17.3oz for the Inconel on your site. With the DM or not? Why is it so much heavier than the normal version?
2 1/2 months and it’s still waiting
Ive seen many videos on how they work and how cool they are… but haven’t seen anyone ask “how do you clean it ?”
Great question! CAT and HUXWRX have specialized cleaning solvents for these sealed silencers, they work great!
Once she smothes out them moves, tightens up her transitions and chills the theatrics.. She gonna be hella sexy. Also.. MUSIC. Bad @$$ girl need bad @$$ music
Had to arch that back for .... Support
I thought she was gonna do a 360 no scope 😂
3:00 you can design a standard CNC cut part in CAD. I would be incredibly surprised if they didn't. You don't seem to know what you're talking about, just regurgitating market speak that you don't actually understand.
Of course you can, the issue is that the traditional systems are much less complex so the benefits of the CAD simulations are less, they’re not dealing with gas flowing thorough the silencer the same way, it’s easy to predict what will happen with a standard baffle design.
You're correct Michael! Some manufacturers use CAD for traditional baffle cans, but the benefits are less apparent as the systems are more simple. The tech still ahs benefits, but is a real force multiplier when it comes to these incredibly complex 3D designs.
Velos lbp 5.56 restock when?
Fingers crossed soon!
Ahhh yes the AUG Arch 🍻😈
Great job Fellas! Education is key, keep it up.
Thanks guys! Yall are a great example of taking this tech and truly elevating the industry.
Ugh the cringe. Silencerco would be ashamed. Seriously guys?
